I loved the book and have found myself thinking about it and the characters from time to time since finishing it, which is a sure sign that it had a big impact on me. It's rare for me to reread a book, but I probably will reread this one at some point. In fact, immediately after finishing the book, I did go back and reread the first few chapters. I'm eagerly awaiting your next offering. :)Lisahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/00795619401977840939noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7425401134381509448.post-21149599138744396742008-04-24T03:51:00.000-04:002008-04-24T03:51:00.000-04:00Thank you so much, Lisa (and all of you) for your ...Thank you so much, Lisa (and all of you) for your enthusiastic comments about Speaking of Love.

And thank you Lisa for your thoughtful, perceptive review (and your succint summary of the story).

As I've said in my comment on your LibraryThing page it's so rare for a first novels to get reviews, so when they're as thoughtful and perceptive (let alone positive) as this one - and the others in the book-blogging world, including on Cornflower's Book Group - it is more encouraging than I can say as I work on (and struggle with) my next one (you're quite right there will will be a next one ... .

Thank you.Angela Younghttps://www.blogger.com/profile/12708737998692926877noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7425401134381509448.post-69243285126315315922008-04-21T09:41:00.000-04:002008-04-21T09:41:00.000-04:00anil p, I hope you like it! It sounds like everyone liked this novel. I don't know why anyone wouldn't. She did such an amazing job weaving the stories together. I'm with you, I can't wait to see what she does next. Thanks for not rapping my knuckles with the ruler for being tardy. :)Lisahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/00795619401977840939noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7425401134381509448.post-92197604830564286782008-04-18T15:38:00.000-04:002008-04-18T15:38:00.000-04:00Lisa, so glad you got there in the end (and there'...Lisa, so glad you got there in the end (and there's never a time limit to adding to a discussion on a book at Cornflower!!). The more I think about Speaking of Love, the more I appreciate what Angela achieved in writing it and I think she did a superb job. I can't wait to see what she'll come up with next because this was far from being an 'ordinary' or run-of-the-mill novel. So glad you agree!Cornflowerhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/17779286635989616330noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7425401134381509448.post-66495508904569479372008-04-18T11:42:00.000-04:002008-04-18T11:42:00.000-04:00danielle, didn't you just love it? I liked the way she built up to the climax and slowly revealed the story. There's so much to talk about in this book, I can easily see why it ended up in the top ten list for the spread the word award! Definitely a worthy read even if you finished after the discussion!Daniellehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/06415242678720695754noreply@blogger.com
