O.K., Just one more. . .
I'm adding this challenge hosted by Dana because this is something I've been thinking about doing anyway. Hopefully, this will help me follow through with my plan. There are several chunky books that I've been wanting to get around to reading for quite a while. These include: Anna Karenina by Leo Tolstoy, The Woman in White by Wilkie Collins, and A Dance to the Music of Time by Anthony Powell. I'm only going to commit to reading one chunkster in 2009 and will choose one of these three as my official choice for this challenge.

I hope you enjoy A Dance to the Music of Time - it's one of my favourites! I love Woman in White too.
geraniumcat, I've heard nothing but good things about both of these. I have to admit though that the Powell series is a little intimidating (12 novels!). However, I'm going to give it my best effort. Did you read them all from beginning to end or did you read other things in between?
Anna Karenina and The Woman in White are both great books. I think you'd like both of them. I started A Dance to the Music of Time once and gave up, but maybe I should try again as so many other people love it.
One more challenge isn't that bad, especially if you were going to read one of them anyway! I loved Anna Karenina, have the Woman in White in my tbr pile (The Moonstone was a favorite a couple years ago), and have been thinking about reading A Dance to the Music of Time. Good luck!
booksplease, A Dance to the Music of Time is so long. It seems you would really have to love it to continue with it. I guess I'll find out. Glad to know you liked the others I'm considering.
Joann, I'm having a hard time making up my mind as to which one I want to start. Every time I think I've decided, I change my mind.
I probably should have stuck with the first option too, but when I signed up, I was feeling rather ambitious. :-S I just started The Woman in White today. I actually decided to join the challenge because I had decided to read this one.
literary feline, I know what you mean. I still haven't decided which one I want to read!
I first read Dance a book at a time because that was the library had them. I re-read most of it over the last couple of years, but then it was bound into 4 volumes, so I read 2 books at a time. I didn't finish, but that was because I had so much else to read, so I'll go back and finish the last volume.
