I'm So Excited

Here are the bookshelves that my wonderful husband built for me. I think he was sick and tired of tripping over the books laying all over the house, especially in our bedroom -- on the floor, on the table, on the dresser and anywhere else I could find to put them. This is something I've wanted for a very long time. I didn't put any books at all on the very top shelf -- for now. So, I do have some room for adding more books. Lest you think those are all the books I have, there is a large free-standing bookcase in my living room and a couple small ones in the other bedrooms. But, I left those books where they were. Thanks, Monty!!

These are beautiful! Congratulations! =)

Ironically (or coincidentally), I blogged on Sunday about needing new bookshelves. Actually, it was a note to hubby. Come check it out: http://mrstreme.livejournal.com/40544.html

Take care!

Thanks, Dorothy.

Jill, just one more coincidence between us. It's kind of scary, isn't it?

Those shelves are GORGEOUS. Really really love them. The white is striking against the blue wall (which I love, by the way).

andi, thanks. I was worried the blue might be too dark, but it turned out great.
nymeth, thanks, I do love them.
danielle, thanks, I have wanted something like that for as long as I can remember. The scary part is that they're about three-quarters full already. :)

Those are gorgeous, Lisa. I keep trying to convince my husband that he ought to build shelves for our bedroom. I'll be showing him yours most definitely. :)

Hey Lisa - So good to see you in your new place in blogland :)
I love your bookshelves. Your husband did a wonderful job. I'm going to have to show this pic to my husband!

iliana, thanks for visiting my new home. The move wasn't as scary as I thought it may be. Hope the persuasion works and you get some new bookshelves, too. Every true book lover deserves something like this. :)

Nice! I just wish I could read the titles though....it's a bit sad that I recognize some of them just by the color of the spine...

Lisa said...

Tara, that's so funny. I probably could do the same thing with someone else's bookshelves, as well. I hadn't thought of that, but maybe I will post some pictures of the individual shelves so you can read the titles. :)
